Warriors Orochi 3!!

Warriors Orochi 3 is an action-fighting game based on characters from the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors franchises. Players use swords, spears, and magic attacks to kill giant monsters and human enemies in frenetic hack ‘n slash combat. This is the fourth installment of the crossover series Warriors Orochi, being the combination of the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors series.

Story

The story begins several years after the events of Orochi 2, with a decisive battle against a multi-headed serpent known as Youja(Hydra). This giant phantom serpent as well as the re-appearance of Kiyomori throw the peaceful world back into chaos. Many warriors are killed, and the serpent appears to be unstoppable. However, the Moon Princess Kaguya(竹取物語 Taketori Monogatari) appears and uses the power of time travel (What!? Haha) to send back the last remaining generals - Takenaka Hanbei, Sima Zhao and Ma Chao to the past to rewrite the future and save their fallen comrades.

Crossovers

Warriors Orochi 3 has some interesting content added this time. I'm talking about the interesting crossover characters. They are Ryu Hayabusa (from Ninja Gaiden series), Joan of Arc (from Bladestorm: The Hundred Years’ War), Achilles (from Warriors: Legends of Troy), Ayane (from Dead or Alive series) and Nemea (from Trinity: Souls of Zill O’ll).
There are four other new characters added as well. Our time traveling Princes Kaguya (かぐや). The mighty warrior with an intimidating presence Shuten Doji (酒呑童子). A dead but now revived young mechanical man Ne Zha (哪咤). The Mystical leader Susanoo (素戔嗚) who has finally decided to fight in this war. Last but not least. the almighty Yamata no Orochi (八岐の大蛇)  or Hydra in N.A and UK. Orochi's raw power has taken the form of this legendary monster!

To Buy or Not to Buy

Although I've yet to buy this game and only played Warriors Orochi for the PSP and some missions of Samurai Warriors on PS2, this game seems pretty fun. I'm a fan of this series but don't even own most, just one. Ha ha! The game was release in N.A on March 20 but for PS3 owners, its only available on the PlayStation Network. Many have different opinions on that because of the no disc issue. With the box, disc, booklet etc it's a whopping $60+ and with PSN it's $20 less. The reason being games not dubbed into English cannot be released on disc format. Odd, but whatever, that's America for you. $50 is still kind of pricy for me for a downloadable game but hell, it seems worth it, but, not now. If I have convinced you into trying it or didn't at all, try to see the trailers. It speaks more than me.
